HM Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Beacon

Bradda Dads are proud to have organised one of the 2,012 or more beacons to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee.  We built a beacon on Rebellion Knoll and it is due to be lit at 2226hrs on Monday, 4 June 2012.  We hope the community of Bradwell and those people who can see the beacon from afar enjoy the spectacle.  Thanks to Malcolm Sowerby for the use of his tractor and trailer and also to Geoff Eyre for the pallets and for allowing access across the land.

Photographs at the end of this post show the beacon on fire.

We had some unexpected help

The beacon and bench seat can be seen from the village.
Can you spot the hikers using the rickety old bench seat
to have their lunch?
